Sustainability is a strategic principle for the energy supplier MVV Umwelt in Mannheim. It produces electricity from heat, waste, biomass and wind. The company was in temporary need of additional offices and meeting rooms for its projects. The difficult part was the need for a lot of space on a small surface area.
It was the perfect scenario for the room specialist ELA Container. ELA can create new space on a limited surface area in no time with four-storey container systems. The company recently obtained the statics certificate needed for this.
In addition to the office and meeting rooms, the temporary building features a kitchenette, WCs and an internal stairwell. The window banks on both sides let lots of light into the rooms inside and are just as much an eyecatcher as the height of the system.
Annette Jarosch, a project manager and structural engineer at MVV, praises the way the companies worked together: “ELA worked hard to be of assistance to us even in the basic design phase and proved a skilled business partner after the contract to deliver the office containers was awarded. The office containers meet the work requirements of MVV Umwelt and allow MVV staff to work industriously in the new office container system.”
For Julian Schreiner, ELA Area Sales Manager, the project has been a resounding success: “Together with the customer, we have completed a pioneering feat in this four-storey container system. Especially in industry, there is often not enough space to set up large container systems. Four-storey ELA systems are the ideal solution for such customers.”
